Does it hurt your heart when you hear that children school strikes outside the Parliament because we adults do not do enough? Come and turn your climate angst into action – it’s time to act! Welcome to a lunch concert for the climate just before the election, at Nytorget in Stockholm from 11:30 to 14:00!
The summer’s extrem heat disturbs many of us. A child school strikes outside the Swedish Parlament. At the same time, a poll is taking place where the climate has become a political bat for the political parties. To engage more people for the climate, the organizations WeDontHaveTime, Storm Warning and Föräldravrålet organize a lunch concert.
– “The concert is a response to the children’s urgent call to us adults to take our responsibility to do more. We want to show that we are many who care about the climate so that our politicians, regardless of party affiliation, dare to make the decisions that the climate crisis demands”, says Ingmar Rentzhog, founder of WeDontHaveTime.
– “Music is a great way for people to meet and feel the power of being in a community. We hope that the concert will gather all the worried people out there that have an unpleasant feeling in the stomach after the summer’s extreme heat. Together we can show that we are many who care about the climate”, says Sophia Ersson, project manager at Stormvarning.
Greta Thunberg has been on strike from the school for thirteen days outside the Swedish Parliament to raise awareness of the severity of the climate crisis.
– “Children should not ned to have a school strike. Of course, it’s the adults who need to do more to fix the climate. Now, we must all step forward to ensure that Sweden’s politicians take the climate crisis seriously”, says Frida Berry Eklund, spokesman for Föräldravrålet.
We will meet at Urban Deli, Nytorget. Lunch is available for purchase on site. The concert is crowd-funded and therefore totally free for everyone, but we appreciate very much if you have the opportunity to give us a contribution.
Bring your friends, colleagues and acquaintances. Everyone is welcome no matter what you want to vote for. The climate concerns us all!
