Luke Elliot on Tour
New Jersey-born Luke Elliot has seduced audience after audience at sold out venues around the world since releasing his critically acclaimed debut album “Dressed for the Occasion”. With a dark and musical storytelling that reminds of Nick Cave, Leonard Cohen and Tom Waits, mixed with an outstanding energy and magnetism in his performance, Luke Elliot is the most interesting thing to see on a scene right now. After a club show and two festivals on Swedish soil, Luke Elliot makes his first Sweden tour this autumn.
In the last year, Luke Elliot has worked with his upcoming album, which will be released in early 2019. On the new album he collaborates with Paul Wallfisch from The Swans and with Brian Viglione (Dresden Dolls, Nine Inch Nails).
The debut album was produced by John Agnello (Kurt Vile, Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr.) and when released, Tidal appointed him “one of the world’s five best new artists”. Luke Elliot has also collaborated a lot with Larry Mullins from Iggy & The Stooges and Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, who also jumps into live music as time goes by.
When Luke Elliot with band played at Obaren in Stockholm at the beginning of the summer, Per Bjurman from Aftonbladet wrote that it was “A show that people in the future are lying about having seen”, and all in place agreed that they had witnessed something unique; Most likely, it will not be possible to see him on such a small scene, free of charge, in the future. The Dagens Nyheter reviewer Nils Hansson gave the score 4 out of 5 and the other journalists on the spot were lyrical.
