HENRIKES – Blackbird

Today the Stockholm based artist HENRIKES is releasing her version of the song Blackbird, which first appeared on The White Album, to celebrate some of the greatest songwriters of all time.

“I have always loved Blackbird for its innocent appearance with a deep meaning behind. It was current back then and still is today. I wanted to make a stripped-down, filmic version that emphasises the lyrics. To me Blackbird is about power.” says Henrikes.

This year it’s been fifty years since The Beatles released the album without cover art, which has become known as The White Album.

HENRIKES grew up in Stockholm, Sweden. She was classically trained vocally, before studying at a contemporary music school in London. This is her second single release, after her debute in 2018 with the Henrikes single Happy.

Orginally written by: Paul McCartney & John Lennon
Production: Märta Grauers
