The Scalateater is one of Stockholm’s oldest private theaters and in 2018 we celebrate 100 years. In our enchanting venues, legendaries like Jan Malmsjö, Harriet Andersson, Allan Edwall, Sif Ruud, Peter Carlsson & Blue Grodorna, Birgitta Andersson and Monica Zetterlund performed.
Today, the Scalateatern is much more than a theater. At our pleasure palace you can have a meal in the restaurant, watch a theater show in the lounge, have a glass of wine in the bar and enjoy live jazz in the basement – all the same evening!
We, who run the Scala Theater, Conrad and Tova Nyqvist, Henrik Dorsin and Michael Lindgren, took over 2014 and started a new era of the theater with Henrik Dorsin’s prestigious one-man show “The Nightingale from Holavedsvägen”. After that, 130 sold out performances of “Grotesco on Scala” (2015) followed.
