Danscentrum Stockholm

Danscentrum Stockholm is an important collegial meeting place for professionally active in the non-institutional dance. It is also a common place for artists in the field. As an organization Danscentrum is a driving force in the work for the dance artists’ improved conditions in the free dance life and often also has public events, such as artist talks, workshops and dance performances.
Danscentrum Stockholm has a employment service mission from the National Council for Cultural Affairs. The goal is to create jobs for freelance choreographers and dancers. The members are mainly freelance dancers and choreographers but also active in new circus, mime and performance. The purpose of the association is to promote the professional contemporary dance, to improve the conditions of dance artists and the dance infrastructure.
