Club Platypus was started in 2009 by Louise Bodin. The idea was to have a music club where everyone should feel welcome, regardless of age, as long as they share a certain interest in pop music. And are kind! Here, 60-year-old post-punk connoisseurs should be able to inspire 22-year-old indie kids over a glass. The hope and the goal is that everyone should make at least 1 new acquaintance during the evening, not just sit in a corner with their friends. Sometimes there will be live bands, sometimes DJ:s. Mrs. Platypus with various female guest DJ:s plays conaisseur pop from the 60’s and onwards, with a focus on contemporary music. There will be many British eccentrics, psychedelic folk pop, girls singing about broken hearts and other things, late 70s / early 80s new wave / powerpop, French and Spanish lolita and dandy pop in the Burt Bacharach spirit, electronic dance pop, odd easy listening stuff, sweet twee-bands, classic brit pop and indie and lots of others…
Here you find posters from selected evenings at Club Platypus!
